My garden notebook used to be a spiral-bound thing with coffee stains and a broken spine. Now it's a set of HTML pages that update themselves. The shift didn't happen overnight, but it's real. The file format matters because it dictates how we produce, modify, and share information. In the past, a garden plan was a static document.
